The diaper rash would usually be ripe enough for me to allow him out of the diapers in 4 days but I remember one occasion he was in them for 8 days. It was made out of a piece of rubber padding about 1/4″ thick and glued to double it up with a tongue that was a few inches long and had cord running through it for tieng behind his head. I had experimented with the length of the tongue started with a long one and trying it on him and if he gagged I would pull it out and remove 1/4″ and retry it.
